Heya folks!

For the Ambience #4 jam, EinelTheFox and myself teamed up to bring you a most horrifying lake trip of sonic drones, throat singing, and post-metal! We promise you that you'll enjoy what you hear - at the very least we hope you find it interesting! We present you with "Will of the Wisps" - a three-track album we co-created for this jam! We took inspiration from Einel's frequent trips on his kayak to the lake, the general want of use both to do something with guitars and harmonics/feedback, and my love of cryptid folklore from the bowels of the midwestern US (hodags, piasa birds, and beasts of Bray Road oh my!).

[Shallow Water - D Phrygian (-n-o-v-a-)] represents our foray out into this fearsome wetland at a lakeside port - as we ready ourself and push off from shore in our rowboat, the horrors from above and below begin to welcome us to their home! This was composed mostly by myself with samples taken from Einel's library to match the ambience and guitar used in track 2.

[Mud Walker - Polymodal over D (EinelTheFox)] The original song was influenced by bands like Gojira, The Ocean and Opeth. It is mostly settlet into post metal. The song functions in the first half as D-Aeolian altho D# is added in bass and ambient arps. In the second verse it is also found in the pads in the background. So it isn't just a clasical minor. With the later half the song gets fully into D-Phrygian with an added G# for the tritone. The last part could be considered cromatic.

[Bog-Born Stalker -  A, but I don't actually care I just want "A" drone (-n-o-v-a-)] represents our foray into the deeper and murkier bog - siren voices from places unaware stir our mind before resorting to their true form, throat singing! 80% of this is Einel doing a fucking fantastic vocal performance and me adding on with a line or two of my own and modifying the bass from track 1 to mirror the vocals in this one. One final last jumpscare from the voices makes our heartbeat flutter before the fear breaks into the unknown!
